EXCLUSIVE: Investors Rejoice! Clea DuVall and Mary Holland, co-conspirators behind the romantic rollercoaster known as Happiest Season, are now plotting their next venture—this time, a strategic ambush on your television remote. That’s right, folks! Forget the silver screen; we’re diving into the world of the small screen with a delightful new single-camera comedy called Day Job—a title that perfectly encapsulates the futility of adulthood.

In this half-hour escapade, we’ll meet the utterly naïve Meg (played by Holland), who blissfully remains oblivious to the glaring fact that she doesn’t quite gel with her affluent, Wall Street-enthusiast family. Because who needs reality checks when you have trust funds, right? But plot twist! Meg finds herself in a tangled web when her father frames her for a white-collar crime she is far too dull to commit. Ah, familial love!

In her quest for independence—with all the finesse of a toddler attempting to cook a soufflé—Meg decides to cut ties with her well-connected family. Leaving behind the comforts of luxury for the grueling grind of the working class, she soon realizes that not every day job can allow you to pour lattes while narrating your existential crisis.

And who is steering this delightful train wreck? Well, DuVall is donning the triple hats of writer, director, and all-around mastermind. It takes a brave soul to tackle the dilemma of modern adulthood while also keeping a straight face. Joining her on this creative expedition are Temple Hill’s elite crew, including Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, Isaac Klausner, and Adam Fishbach—clearly, they all needed a good laugh too!

Just to add a cherry on top, this comedic venture emerges after the enormous success of Happiest Season, which apparently struck a chord with viewers grappling with the very pressing issue of family dysfunction during the holidays. Kind of reminiscent of most family gatherings—just sprinkle in a little homophobia and you’ve got a Christmas classic!

In case you’re wondering what our multi-talented DuVall is hopping into next, she’s also busy writing, directing, and executive-producing IMDb TV’s High School while simultaneously filming Showtime’s The First Lady. Talk about multitasking! And let’s not forget Holland, who recently put the finishing touches on Senior Year—a movie where she stars alongside Rebel Wilson as they dive into the chaos of high school… again!

So, if you’re looking for that exquisite blend of faux sophistication and hilarity, mark your calendars and prepare for Day Job. It’s bound to make you ponder your own life choices while you thumb through your streaming options. It’s hard out here in adulthood—better pack your sarcasm alongside your resume!
