Funny You Should Ask Receives Renewal for Ninth and Tenth Seasons in Syndication from Allen Media Group

Ah, the challenge of keeping a long-running game show fresh: what’s the secret sauce? Well, if you ask “Funny You Should Ask,” the answer might just be “more comedy and at least two more seasons.” Yes, by some miracle (or perhaps sheer force of will), Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group has greenlit Seasons 9 and 10, extending the hilarity (for lack of a better term) into the 2026-27 television season.

Hosted by the ever-enthusiastic Jon Kelley, “Funny You Should Ask” continues its comedic journey where stand-up comics interact with contestants. It’s kind of like therapy, but instead of solving your deep-seated issues, you just embarrass yourself for a chance at cash and prizes. Perfectly healthy, right?

“Funny You Should Ask is basically the Swiss Army knife of comedy game shows,” declared Allen, self-proclaimed maestro of merriment and CEO of Allen Media Group. He’s so proud of this show that one might suspect he’s trying to fill a void left by a missing punchline in his life. “The world can never have enough laughter,” he continued, ignoring that every comedian has a dark side lurking around the corner, like an old joke that fell flat.

Since its debut in 2017, “Funny You Should Ask” has boasted a lineup that reads like a “Who’s Who” of people you thought were already retired. Featuring talent like Louie Anderson (who still manages to steal the show from beyond the grave), Tiffany Haddish, and Gabriel Iglesias, this show is basically a reunion for people who peaked in the ’90s.

Once the ink dried on this two-season extension, it became clear this show is practically taking over the airwaves. It’s available in more than 90% of broadcast TV markets, which, if you do the math, means you’re only three remote clicks away from witnessing absolute chaos. So, you can catch it on CBS, Fox, or other networks that still somehow have viewers instead of cat videos.

With AMG holding the crown as the largest producer-distributor of first-run syndicated TV programming, they’re delivering a staggering 12 hours of content per day to around 1,100 stations. Because who doesn’t want to be inundated with game shows where answers are stylized versions of dad jokes? Truly, a societal achievement.

If you’re keen to dive into this world of comedic wonder, you might want to sign up for Deadline’s Newsletter. The odds are you won’t escape without a chuckle. Follow them for the latest news, and brace yourself for more hilarity to come. After all, who doesn’t need a reminder of the brilliance that is a game show anchored in laughter? In a world so serious, it’s a refreshing twist on reality—or maybe just a sign that we’ve all collectively lost our marbles.
