22-Year-Old Without a Degree Finds Her Niche in Cosplaying CEOs While Residing in a Subaru

Once upon a time in the majestic land of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Kit Huffman was living the dream—if your dream is to work full-time at a ski resort and write LinkedIn posts for cash-strapped coaches. Forget the glamorous life of agency founders; Huffman looked more like a ski bum with a penchant for self-promotion. But hey, we all start somewhere, right?

According to Huffman’s riveting narrative on Business Insider, by summertime, her income from those charming little posts had increased to the extent that she felt justified in moving out of the employee housing—yes, she took the plunge and relocated into her 2005 Subaru Forester. Because who needs a studio apartment when you have the open road, a vintage subcompact vehicle, and a side gig that transformed into her primary income? Talk about minimalism!

From Ski Resort Employee to LinkedIn Luminary

During this adventurous gap year (which was definitely not a ‘trendy life choice’ but more of an ‘I-can’t-afford-college’ scenario), Huffman became a master of living out of her car. If that sounds like a recipe for chaos, well, you’re absolutely correct. She worked from borrowed Wi-Fi like a digital vagabond on the hunt for coffee shops, even giving occasional nods to the gods of wi-fi limits for their monthly allowance. And then, just when you thought it couldn’t get any more thrilling, a UK agency popped into her life with an offer to ghostwrite for a CEO at a large global bank. Who knew “ghostwriting” wasn’t just a Halloween gimmick?

She took this grand opportunity despite being a dyslexic 22-year-old without a diploma who had to Google “ghostwriter.” Let’s just say her credentials weren’t exactly what you’d expect for a career that would eventually lead to her front-row seat at the agency founding game. But in true entrepreneurial spirit, she dove in headfirst, embracing the role of “cosplaying CEOs”—yes, she went beyond mere writing and fully embodied the voices of senior executives. Because nothing says “working your way up” like pretending to be someone who swiped an AmEx black card while sipping organic gluten-free lattes!

From Ghost to Growth: The Rise of Kit Huffman

Fast forward to when Huffman returned to college. Nothing spells “success” like juggling a burgeoning ghostwriting career, university life, and additional writing courses. Because, as we all know, nothing can prepare you for the real world like attending lectures in between crafting perfect LinkedIn posts for imaginary rich people.

Five years after that wild ride commenced, Kit graduated, sold her beloved Subaru (if cars could cry, that one would have shed a tear), and made the leap to New York City. And surprise, surprise! She launched Seneca, an agency specializing in helping executives, founders, and investors polish their personal brands on social media. Because if anything screams “I am a powerful CEO,” it’s having your social media game tighter than your grip on the company’s expense account.

The moral of the story? Start with a marketable skill—preferably one that requires minimal education and maximal wit. Sometimes, your side hustle can be the key to crashing the party that is life, even if it means borrowing someone else’s expensive house until you learn how to buy your own. So dust off your LinkedIn profile, grab that can-do attitude, and always pack extra snacks in case you find yourself living out of your car. You’ll never know when you need to fuel up for success!
