Is Peter Still Employed at SUR on Vanderpump Rules? Here’s What You Need to Know

“I guess it was by my choice, in a sense,” Peter recently shared, of leaving ‘Vanderpump Rules.’

Ah, the glorious chaos of SUR. Season 11 of *Vanderpump Rules* dropped like an unexpected hangover on January 30, 2024. Even though most of the cast has traded in their aprons for questionable life choices, SUR remains the eternal flame of drama. The show sheds light on the lives of staff members at high-end West Hollywood eateries, and as anyone who has seen a Bravo show can attest, it’s like watching a Shakespearean tragedy unfold — only with more cocktails and fewer togas.

Over more than ten years, a revolving door of regulars and cameo stars has graced *Vanderpump Rules*, kind of like a wedding where everyone pretends to care about the couple. But true fans know the constant faces — like Peter Madrigal, the man who has been around since the first dramatic gasp on the series. But what’s his status these days at SUR? Peter spilled the tea on the Bravo & Blaze podcast recently, and it’s been brewing strong.

Not wanting to miss the chance at some reality TV drama, Peter’s career at SUR started as a humble busboy during the economic downturn of 2008. That’s right, folks; he worked his way up from slinging dirty plates to slinging drinks. By 2011, he was managing the chaos — an admirable feat considering the emotional swings of those who work there. And by 2013, he leapt into the world of reality TV, hoping to avoid the proverbial trash fire he was trying to manage.

    The Zen Manager of SUR

In an exclusive interview, Peter confessed that he prefers to keep his head clear amidst the Bravo-induced madness. “I can’t have a drama-fest while managing SUR,” he quipped, seemingly channeling some sort of zen master. While chaos swirls like a margarita on a Friday night, Peter proudly claims his title as the level-headed voice amid the melodrama, which is easier said than done when you’re operating in a reality show environment.

One can only admire his attempts at balance while also marketing himself as a part-time real estate agent and eager cocktail blogger, because nothing screams ‘well-rounded’ like juggling properties and drink recipes. Little did we know that behind every calm manager lies an Instagram account bursting with cocktail concoctions. Perhaps he’s the unsung hero of social media bartending we didn’t know we needed.

So, Why Did Peter Bow Out of Season 11?

Even though Peter continues to operate within the SUR universe, he’s officially eschewing *Vanderpump Rules*. In a March 2024 chat, he revealed his dramatic exit was entirely rooted in budgetary woes. It turns out, the producers offered him a captivating choice: return for free or not at all. Spoiler: he didn’t choose the free hit job.

“In short, their budget was tighter than a pair of Spanx post-holiday binge,” he said, opting for the wiser path of financial stability over unfiltered, drama-packed torment. Ironically, the producers might need a new cocktail recipe of their own — one that contains an extra helping of funds.

Peter has been busily exploring other ventures and thriving as a part-time real estate agent, gently reminding us that life can exist beyond the confines of a reality TV bar. He occasionally graces Instagram with cocktail recipes, drawing in a following of over 287,000 fans — a figure that suggests he could easily host a seminar titled “How to Make a Million on Mixed Drinks and Dreams.” For those who wish to relive the past, the first nine seasons of *Vanderpump Rules* are still available for binge-watching, where Peter made memories and chaos one cocktail at a time.

Mark your calendars, as Season 11 premieres on January 30, 2024, at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo. Until then, may your cocktails be strong and your drama be non-existent.
