One of the most delightful and memorable experiences for families during the Christmas season is visiting a live nativity event. Growing up in Duluth, I fondly recall attending one in my neighborhood, which was always a much-anticipated occasion. Children find it especially thrilling to see the Christmas story come to life with live characters and animals. In recent years, I have compiled a guide to these events, noting which ones have persisted through challenges like COVID-19, as well as new additions that have surfaced.

This year, I’ve gathered information on a variety of live nativity events taking place across the Twin Cities area. The best part? All events are free, though donations are often welcomed to support local charities.
