Buckle up for a unique ride as the new film Prakambanam promises to navigate through horror and comedy—perfect for those who can’t decide if they want to laugh or scream!
Prepare your popcorn and your sense of humor, because the Malayalam horror family comedy Prakambanam is groaning its way into theaters on January 30. Tickets? Yes, they’re already available; feel free to make everyone’s day by booking a seat (or two)—you might need it for the laughs or potential shivers.
This cinematic masterpiece is touted as a concoction of belly laughs and spine chills, which begs the question: what exactly will happen if you laugh too hard during a scary part? The producers assure us there are plenty of hidden elements to keep even the most astute audiences guessing—and maybe questioning their life choices.
Set mainly in a men’s hostel (yes, the quintessential breeding ground for questionable life choices), Prakambanam promises to intertwine humor and horror seamlessly. Just imagine the hijinks of hostel life with uninvited ghostly guests—it’s the roommate from hell but more spectral and less forgiving.
The film stars a cast of bold talents: Ganapathi, Sagar Surya, and Ameen take the lead roles, supported by an impressive lineup including Rajesh Madhavan, Sheethal Joseph, and Kalabhavan Navas. It’s a stellar team, and if anyone can handle haunting comedic moments, it’s them! Directed by Vijesh Panathur, the film already has a solid reputation—well, at least among its friends and family!
The screenplay and dialogues are crafted by Sreehari Vadakkan, with cinematography by Alby Antony. Because nothing says “I’ve made it” like someone capturing the art of horror films whilst handling a comedy script. Music and effects are composed by various wizards who can make the mood foreboding simply by adjusting the background score at just the right moment.
As fate would have it, Prakambanam will be distributed theatrically by Navarasa Release in Kerala, RFT Entertainment overseas, and Phars Films in GCC territories. Remember, comedy is best enjoyed in groups, and a little horror never hurt anyone—except maybe the popcorn, which might no longer be safe.
