Romesh Ranganathan: Unstoppable Drive to Succeed in Television

“Stand-ups are basically comedians’ exquisite buffet of random thoughts,” mused Romesh. “We thought, why not film a series that puts my chaotic stand-up theories to the test? Spoiler: Turns out my brain is a confusing maze of nonsense.” Well, better late than never, folks!

In an adventure spanning four rollercoaster episodes, Romesh jet-sets to the illustrious lands of India, the USA, South Korea, and Canada—because why stick to one place when you can burn carbon and cash in four countries?! His mission? To explore cultural perspectives on that mythical unicorn we call work-life balance. Spoiler alert: it’s about as real as my gym membership.

Along the way, he frolics through a “happy factory” (isn’t that just called an assembly line with good PR?), rubs shoulders with millionaires who desperately seek adrenaline like it’s on sale, acts his socks off in a Tamil movie, experiences something called a living funeral (which sounds like the worst surprise party ever), and consults a shaman for a spiritual makeover. Can you hear the laughter? Or is that just me choking on irony?

So, can Romesh prove any of his dubious theories, or—wait for it—unveil the secret to modern life? There’s really only one way to unveil the mystery: tune in and pray for enlightenment, or at least a good chuckle. Set your reminders; “Romesh: Can’t Knock The Hustle” debuts at 10 PM on Tuesday, September 23, on Sky Max HD (CH 111). Enjoy your family dinners around it—it’ll be a topic, trust me!

And if that’s not enough Romesh for your insatiable cravings, don’t fret. This guy has a to-do list longer than the safety instructions on a flight. He’s juggling podcasts like “Hip Hop Saved My Life” and “Wolf & Owl,” a weekly BBC Radio 2 show (somebody stop him before he starts a sock puppet channel), plus he’s busy writing children’s books, memoirs, and columns for national newspapers. Spoiler: it won’t be boring!

In a world where distractions are the new normal, Romesh keeps himself busier than a dog in a room full of squirrels. And for those who enjoy the couch potato lifestyle, we’ve meticulously compiled a list of all the potential Romesh sightings. Get comfy; this is like a treasure map, but with the promise of laughter instead of gold.

So, if you want to avoid the social awkwardness of engaging human interaction while still feeling entertained, strap in. Days are long, Netflix is endless, and let’s not forget—you could be listening to a stand-up theory that may or may not change your life. In other words, get ready to be wildly unimpressed yet highly entertained. Let the binge-watching commence!
