Attention, whiskey enthusiasts and Charlie Day fans! The pint-sized prince of chaos is descending upon Boston this week.
Our beloved “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star is set to take over the Boston bar scene with a mission: to promote his Irish American whiskey brand, Four Walls Whiskey. From Thursday through Saturday, Day will grace local haunts such as the Rooftop at the Envoy, Lucky’s Lounge, Back Bay Social, Flight Club Boston, and Lansdowne Pub—because nothing screams “whiskey” quite like a rooftop bar. Expect Day to unleash his “IASIP” energy as he pours shots, poses for selfies, and likely makes some questionable drink decisions at each stop.
And because he’s not just a pretty face with a thirst for distilled spirits, Day will also swing by Total Wine at the South Bay Center in Dorchester on Saturday to sign bottles of Four Walls Whiskey. So if you ever wanted a bottle of liquor adorned with Charlie’s John Hancock, your day is finally here. Just remember, these appearances are first-come, first-served, meaning the line will be longer than a therapy session with a group of alcoholics. Arrive early — it’s like a free concert, but with less music and more potential for liver damage.
In an exclusive statement to the Globe, Day revealed, “One of the missions of the brand is to bring more real-life hangs back.” And by “real-life hangs,” he means gathering in cramped establishments where personal space is just a delightful concept lost in the bottom of a whiskey glass.
Born in New York but raised in the idyllic land of Rhode Island (where dreams of oceanfront real estate and other delusions flourish), Day graduated from Merrimack College in 1998. He co-founded Four Walls Whiskey as a heartfelt tribute to “the place that the gang calls home” — a fictional bar. Because if you can’t have a real bar, might as well create a whiskey brand and drink away your sorrows, right? Yup, Paddy’s Irish Pub, the fictional dive where most absurd hijinks ensue, deserves more attention than the average college lecture.
But it’s not just whiskey that Day has on his plate. He recently co-starred in Ethan Coen’s film “Honey Don’t,” and he’s reprising his role as Luigi in the upcoming “Super Mario” sequel, aptly titled “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” hitting screens in April 2026. Because who doesn’t love a chubby plumber with a penchant for mustaches and mayhem?
And let’s not forget, Day mentioned on Ted Danson’s podcast, “Where Everybody Knows Your Name,” that the writers’ room for the 18th season of “IASIP” is revving up in October, with a release date tentatively scheduled for late 2026. So, if you’re feeling nostalgic for your favorite dysfunctional friends, hold on to your couch cushions; they’ll be back before you know it.
